Texas Tech University is the only university in the state of Texas that offers a major in the Wind Energy Field through the National Wind Institute (NWI). The NWI was established in 2012, a year after the first Ph.D. and Bachelor of Science programs in wind energy and engineering in the U.S. were developed. This program allows graduate students to travel the world, compete in wind engineering contests, and conduct research at Texas Tech’s unique site of facilities on campus.
These opportunities provide students with the knowledge necessary to go to work in the wind energy and engineering field.
